A&R / Label Manager

Our client in the music industry is looking for a skilled A & R Manager with a track record. Should have a love for music and experience in working in front-line media e.g., A&R, Marketing, Radio, TV, and artist development. 

The job purpose will be to find new talent from the region, and nurture and promote their music copyrights and careers while connecting them to larger opportunities around the region and the world.


  • Building and establishing a roster of writers/artists/acts, and producers within the region
  • Managing writing and studio sessions
  • Scouting new talent and presenting online, data stats, live shows, etc
  • Assisting and monitoring the careers of developing roster and existing artists/writers
  • Coordinating writing trips; brainstorming session ideas from the roster and working closely with managers, labels, and publishers to implement a schedule.
  • Relationship building and management. Meet new industry contacts across all regions, including but not limited to song-pluggers, radio-pluggers, radio promotions, record label managers, artist managers, artists, songwriters, marketing managers and building relationships with digital service providers and music playlist curators
  • Keeping abreast with industry trends in Radio, TV, playlisting, demand in genres etc
  • A&R Research/Lead Generation
  •  Compile, manage and keep track of all music (demos, roughs, mixes, etc.)
  •  Assemble copy and credits/splits for singles/album releases
  • Use online tools to research and analyse data on signed and unsigned artists


  • Computer skills required to maintain and log audio and written records of songs and copyright information
  • Good communication and letter-writing skills
  • Have a superior ear for music and understanding of what it takes to deliver a commercially marketable song
  • A passion for music and the industry; being aware of key movements in music and understanding what audiences are listening


  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the music/entertainment industry
  • Experience working with artists (songwriters, producers, performers etc) in a creative space
  • A track record for discovering and nurturing new writers and artists, as well as a vision for how to maintain successful careers for them.
  • Ability to set up collaborative co-writing sessions for artists on the publishing roster.
  • Extensive network within all levels of developing music, including songwriters, managers, labels, lawyers, and producers is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and networking skills, with an ability to prioritize.
  • High level of integrity, work ethic, communication, project management, and teamwork skills
  • Flexible to work non-standard hours and travel for gigs
